Welcome to the Pipeline

Clark County Water Reclamation District:
Pipeline Rehabilitation Project Overview

As part of its ongoing sewer pipeline rehabilitation project, the Clark County Water Reclamation District (District) has started a new phase of sewer system upgrades in the east part of the valley.

This is the largest project of this kind that the District has ever undertaken, with the entire project encompassing 4 square miles.

The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase involves setting up bypass pumps that are used to divert sewer flows so that crews can better examine the pipes and assess their condition. The second phase is the rehabilitation, repair and any necessary installations of the actual pipes. During this time, the impacted area will be subject to lane closures. Streets expected to have restrictions include: Flamingo Road, El Oro Street, Mountain Vista Street, Indios Avenue, Twain Avenue, Desert Inn Road, Stephanie Street and Nellis Boulevard.

Lane restrictions for the bypass pumping operation will remain through the extent of the entire project, even though actual pipeline work may be conducted in other areas. The project is estimated to take at least 24 months to complete.

The purpose of this project is to increase the capacity of the valley’s sewer system and ensure that it remains fully operational for many years to come. Since March of 2005, the District has made improvements to more than 35 miles of pipeline.

While the project is taking place, drivers should take precautions and allow extra time when traveling though the impacted areas. For more information and traffic updates, drivers can also call the project hotline at 853-1333, or visit the District's Web site  at www.cleanwaterteam.com.
