How the sewer pipeline rehabilitation process works:
The process begins with videotaping the sewer pipes to determine which areas need to be rehabilitated.
Once this is determined, bypass pumps are set up to empty the pipes by diverting water to another area of the sewer system.
A felt tube is then inserted into the pipe through a manhole and is impregnated with a thermal-setting resin.
The resin is then cured with steam, leaving behind a hard, durable liner.
This process prevents crews from having to dig trenches to replace pipes, reducing construction time and traffic impacts.
